It Was Seventeen Years Ago Today…
This picture of Justin Hayward (ladies: click to enlarge, hee, hee!) was taken out of a program booklet when The Moody Blues did two benefit concerts in New York City in 1991 at The Paramount Theater.
I’ve been to so many of their concerts in New York City. This tour was promoting their “Keys Of The Kingdoms” album, which was released earlier that year. Their big hit at this time was, “Say It With Love.”
It was a benefit concert, and after it had finished, the first ten rows of people (we had what was called Golden Circle tickets) was escorted back into this reception area where The Moody Blues were there to greet us.
Justin Hayward autographed this picure of himself for me.
It was also my 37th birthday, and I had also spent the earlier part of the day with them because I won a contest by being the 10th caller into a radio station which was WNEW FM hosted by Scott Muni.
I was amazed that they remembered me from earlier that afternoon after seeing so many people all day.
There were two shows in 1991. One was on Tuesday, December 10, and Wednesday, December 11.
If there are any Moody Blues fans who remember either of these days at the Paramount Theater or were at WNEW FM in New York City and would like to connect, please leave a blog comment here. I would love to hear from you. I know you’re out there somewhere.
Right: Ray Thomas and Justin Hayward
I took this picture of Justin Hayward and Ray Thomas in a reception room of the Paramount Theater in New York City, on December 10, 1991.

WOW Seth ! That is soooooooo cool ! You know, I saved all my Moody Blues tickets, too ! I still keep them in a box, hee, hee ! I see you saw them in 1981. That is when they were playing with that guy from YES ? I didn’t really care for their style then, but I still bought their records like a good fan !
