The End of Yahoo! 360
I just got this email from Yahoo! announcing the official closing of Yahoo! 360.
Good riddance.
Anyway, here’s the scoop:

Yep…………..I’ve just got one exactly the same. Fortunatly i moved every thing over here a while ago and haven’t added any thing to 360 for ages. Still seems a bit sad though. 360 was my introduction to blogland

I previously moved most of my stuff out of there, but there may be some things I didn’t need that might be over there. I need to check.

I haven’t used 360 since I moved over here. I don’t even think about it unless someone mentions it, I am surprised it took them this long.

I had so many technical problems over there, I’m surprised they lasted as long as they did !

I still have a few friends on 360 who haven’t made the move to Multiply, and now Multiply friends are also connecting on Facebook. When will it end? LOL
And what’s all this ‘beefed up’ security of the new Yahoo 360? Don’t people realise that over-regulating just chokes our creative freedoms. If they’re worried about the pervs, wake up, 360. They’re everywhere. We can just block/report/delete, which is what should happen to pervs. The rest of us just want to have fun, and a big OH BROTHER to ‘Big Brother’!!! |

I was actually introduced to the blogland world from my sister, but it took me a long time to meet friends. The real issue was the technical difficulties and the fact that it was sooo slow. Sometimes it would take me a couple of hours to get something posted over there. Its much easier and faster over here, and I met some great people over here. I’m glad I made the move !

Thanks for the info Laurita. I don’t know if I got the message, or not. It does sound like it’s time to get over there and clear things out. I haven’t used my 360 in ages anyway. It is sad, because it used to be so nice there. ~big sigh~

I know, Diana, it is sort of sad in a way. Some of the friends I had over there came here and we stayed friends, but I still think it’s a nicer community over here. I’d better go over there and grab what I can that’s left (if it doesn’t run too slowly, LOL!).

I’ve got so much stuff on that blog, it’ll take me a while to figure out if everything’s over here or not.

Thanks for this. I haven’t been there in ages. When I check in and FINALLY get in, all I see are spam messages. Well I assume we all have a Multiply page but how do we get our old yahjoo blogs connected with tht, how does the downloading work? I’ll have to take a look at the link you gave.

I am glad they are going to stop 360. It did not work and with Yahoo if you open an page you can’t get rid of it without deleting all your yahoo ID. If it wasn’t for a couple of people on my IM I didn’t want to risk using I would just delete my entire yahoo ID and open a new one.

I did the download last night and it worked very smoothly. Everything’s there in your profile, complete with images and videos. At least they did that right !

Sorry it didn’t work, Janeen. I’m happier here, too.

Wow. Only now I am reading they only closed 360 on 2009! I never had the chance to hear about those download options. One thing I have disliked of 360, Multiply and probably all blogging sites is the migration is bumpy, complicated and companies practically don’t care about the functionality of exports tools as they are closing (at least the blogging or interaction platform).
