The Four Corners
Did you know that you can be in four places at once ? Easy. Just go to the Four Corners Monument. It’s about 375 miles from Salt Lake City. It is the only place in the United States where you can be in four states at once. Utah, Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico all converge at Four Corners, a man-made geographical oddity that creates a magical place for visitors.
If you bend down on all fours, stretch your arms and legs, you will truly be in four states at one time. Other variations are also possible. You could park your car in Utah, shop in Arizona, use the bathroom in New Mexico, and have a picnic in Colorado. All of this can be done within a few dozen yards of each other. You would be amazed at the contortions people pose for in photographs they take in order to show that they are in four states at once !
There are also many places to visit while you’re out there:
Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park
Rainbow Bridge at Lake Powell
Anasazi Ruins
River Running on the San Juan River
Trail of the Ancients Scenic Byway
