Poetry Wednesday 02/04/09: Who Has Seen The Wind?
Who Has Seen the Wind?
by Christina Georgina Rossetti
(1830-1894)
Who has seen the wind?
Neither I nor you.
But when the leaves hang trembling,
The wind is passing through.
Who has seen the wind?
Neither you nor I.
But when the trees bow down their heads,
The wind is passing by.
Hello, and welcome back again to Poetry Wednesday 02/04/09.
You can sign in today and take the tour thru Thursday, so take your time.
I’ll be your hostess again this week. My sister, Sans Souci, is on a break, putting together her own poetry book, but she will check in.
Before we get started, please make sure that your post has a link to get back to this page to make it easier to take the tour:
1) Copy and paste the following link that I have provided for you from this page to somewhere on your poetry post.
Link back to the Poetry Wednesday tour on Laurita’s page
2) Leave the link of your poetry post in the comments section below. This is the link guests will click on to read your poem (see my post below as an example).
You are listening to:
The Morning: Another Morning
By The Moody Blues
from their first album, “Days of Future Passed”
Balloons flying
Children sighing
What a day to go kite flying
Breezy school
Away from school
Cowboys fighting out a duel
Time seems to stand quite still
In a child’s world it always will
Fishes biting
So exciting
Lunchtime sounds so inviting
At the bill
He gets a thrill
Sitting, watching bobby quill
Time seems to stand quite still
In a child’s world it always will
Yesterday’s dreams
Are tomorrow’s sighs
Watch children playing
They seem so wise
Mary green
Today’s a queen
One thousand dollies are her dream
In cotton frocks
And golden locks
Her palace is an orange box
Time seems to stand quite still
In a child’s world it always will

Is that posted for everyone? It says the blog no longer exist! Sugarpiehuny, I went over and told her – She might’ve deleted the original link and moved it to a new location. I was only able to see it by going on her homepage, too.

I am asking the help of my esteemed poetry readers, writers and appreciaters: I am in the process of rewriting many pieces. I would like your input. I am re-posting a poetry blog and adding the rewrite at the lower part of the page. I have also included notes. If you have the time and inclination I would like you to read both and tell me how you feel about the rewritten version. I am looking for clean, clear power. I had to remove a lot of emotion. I had to suspend my ego. I appreciate you thoughts. http://sanssouciblogs.multiply.com/item/email/sanssouciblogs:journal:533

I decided to share with you all, a song that is very powerful important to me, and I believe to many others. I know this is POETRY wednesday not SONG wednesday, but I still think these words are worth sharing. Very meaningful.
