Be My Eyes by Graeme Edge

Laura's Blogs Posted on November 15, 2012 by LauraNovember 15, 2012

Be My Eyes by Graeme Edge of The Moody Blues  Travellin’ along on a beam of light Lookin’ for friends who will be on my side and tell me no lies. Travellin’ along holdin’ hands with faith Searchin’ out places darker than night skies And, a deeper than love lies So hard to see Will you be my eyes? Travellin’ along with a dream of a voyage I’m hoping to find a lost city and new world that I must see Look here, my friend, see … Continue reading →

Laura's Blogs Posted on November 15, 2012 by LauraMay 17, 2019

The trio consisted of: Keith Emerson (originally from The Nice) keyboards Greg Lake (originally from King Crimson) guitars, bass guitar vocals Carl Palmer (originally from Atomic Rooster)drums, percussion Their first four years were a creatively fertile period. Lake produced their first six albums, starting with Emerson, Lake, and Palmer (1970), which contained the hit “Lucky Man”. Their best known early performance had been a relatively modest show at the August 1970 Isle of Wight Festival, one of the last of the great Woodstock-era festivals. At the end of … Continue reading →

WNEW-FM RADIO – The Greatest Radio Station in the 60s

Laura's Blogs Posted on November 15, 2012 by LauraDecember 25, 2012

In the sixties (I know I’m in a sixties time warp, ok ?), there was a radio station in New York City, WNEW FM at 102.7 at MHz. It was probably the most famous rock station in the country because of its progressive rock format. For many years, it used the slogan, “where rock lives”. It was probably the first FM rock station to play music from actual albums with no time limit on the song, instead of the usual tired old top 10 songs … Continue reading →

The Sedona Vortexes

Laura's Blogs Posted on November 15, 2012 by LauraNovember 15, 2012

For many years, people have included Sedona, Arizona in their travel plans in order to try to experience what is known as an energy vortex. Sedona is presumably one of the four key energy vortexes in the world. After surfing the web, a definition of a vortex is this: A vortex is a high concentration of energy, a receiving station for direct influences, by definition, a state resembling a whirlpool. According to Richard Sutphen (author), the earth is surrounded by a grid of etheric energy, with … Continue reading →

Laura's Blogs Posted on November 15, 2012 by LauraNovember 24, 2012

The Children’s Hour was originally a stage play in 1934 written by Lillian Hellman. It was a drama set in an all-girls boarding school run by two women, Karen Wright and Martha Dobie. An angry student, Mary Tilford, runs away from the school and to avoid being sent back, she tells her grandmother that the two headmistresses are having a lesbian affair. Theater Thursday: The Joy Luck Club

Laura's Blogs Posted on November 15, 2012 by LauraNovember 24, 2012

The Joy Luck Club was one of my favorite movies of the nineties. After the successful independent features about Chinese-American life DIM SUM and EAT A BOWL OF TEA, director Wayne Wang took on the daunting task of adapting Amy Tan’s sprawling, multigenerational best-seller THE JOY LUCK CLUB. This movie was made in 1993. After her mother’s death, June (Ming-Na Wen) is asked to take her place in a mahjong club. The three other members, like her mother, were all born in China before the 1949 … Continue reading →

Dr. Wayne Dyer

Laura's Blogs Posted on November 15, 2012 by LauraNovember 15, 2012

Dr. Wayne Dyer is one of my favorite inspirational authors. I would call him the American counterpart of Deepak Chopra. You feel just wonderful after reading one of his books or listening to one of his lectures on PBS. His childhood years were difficult. He spent time in orphanages and foster homes. He obviously had much to overcome. I remember reading somewhere that at least one of his parents was an alcoholic. It’s amazing how people pull through things like this, but they do. In … Continue reading →
