Himilayan Rabbits

Laura's Blogs Posted on December 2, 2012 by LauraDecember 2, 2012

The Himalayan Rabbit possesses both good looks and a beautiful personality. It is no surprise that this lovely animal is one of the oldest domestic breeds and is widely kept as a pet. The Himalayan Rabbit, also known as the “Himmie”, is docile, and is well known for his tranquil, gentle personality. They are easy to handle and make excellent pets for adults and children alike. They are very loving and are quite small, adding to the pleasure of handling these sweet creatures. They are … Continue reading →

Soupy Sales is gone, and so is my childhood

Laura's Blogs Posted on December 2, 2012 by LauraDecember 2, 2012

Soupy Sales was a comedian that was part of my childhood  One funny thing I remember about him was that he was able to mix childhood humor with a little adult humor in good taste, so that he was able to pull it off very well.     Sales died Thursday night at Calvary Hospice in the Bronx, New York, said his former manager and longtime friend, Dave Usher. Sales had many health problems and entered the hospice last week, Usher said. At the peak of his fame … Continue reading →

I Sat Beloney by John Lennon

Laura's Blogs Posted on December 2, 2012 by LauraDecember 2, 2012

I Sat Belonely by John Lennon I sat belonely down a tree, humbled fat and small, A little lady sang to me, I couldn’t see at all. I’m looking up and at the sky, to find such a wondrous voice, Puzzle, puzzle, wonder why, I hear but have no choice. “Speak up come forth you rattle me”, I potty menthol shout, “I know you hiddy by this tree”, but still she won’t come out. Such softly singing lulled me sleep, an hour or two … Continue reading →

Poetry for the loss of a pet: Rainbow Bridge

Laura's Blogs Posted on December 2, 2012 by LauraDecember 27, 2012

Rainbow Bridge author unknown There is a bridge connecting heaven and earth. It is called Rainbow Bridge because of its many colours. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills, valleys with lush green grass. When a beloved pet dies , the pet goes to this special place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. The old and frail are young again. Those who are maimed are made whole again. They play all day with each … Continue reading →

The Four Corners

Laura's Blogs Posted on December 2, 2012 by LauraDecember 2, 2012

Did you know that you can be in four places at once ? Easy. Just go to the Four Corners Monument. It’s about 375 miles from Salt Lake City. It is the only place in the United States where you can be in four states at once. Utah, Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico all converge at Four Corners, a man-made geographical oddity that creates a magical place for visitors. If you bend down on all fours, stretch your arms and legs, you will truly be … Continue reading →

Have you ever wondered how to get a You Tube Video to start to play automatically when someone comes to your page ? ART SUNDAY 08/10/08: Shenandoah and Great Smoky Mountains National Parks

Laura's Blogs Posted on December 2, 2012 by LauraDecember 2, 2012

A view I shot from the Skyline Drive at sunset. Click to enlarge.  Hi everyone ! I’m back from my vacation from Shenandoah and Great Smoky Mountains National Parks. First, let me tell you a little about Shenandoah (located in Virginia). The Skyline Drive, which runs for 105 miles along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains, is flanked by a rumpled panorama of forests and mountains. To many who travel the drive, the highway itself is a park ! But the cars are passing the … Continue reading →

Poetry Wednesday 10/29/08: Three autumn poems by Robert Frost

Laura's Blogs Posted on December 2, 2012 by LauraDecember 24, 2012

Autumn Trees by Laurita A New England October can have days that seem like winter. In this poem, frost wants to put off those wintry days and keep the golden fullness of autumn. He speaks directly to October, in a kind of prayer.   October by Robert Frost  O hushed October morning mild, Thy leaves have ripened to the fall To-morrow’s wind, if it be wild, Should waste them all. The crows above the forest call To-morrow they may form and go. O hushed October morning mild, Begin … Continue reading →
