Poetry Wednesday Birthday Party for Sans Souci 11/05/08: Sign in and take the tour
“Big Lives, Little Lives” by Beryl Cook
“How High The Moon” by Ella Fitzgerald
Hello, and welcome back to Poetry Wednesday 11/05/08. You can sign in today and take the tour !
The Poetry Wednesday lounge will be open Monday-Friday this week to give you more time to post your poetry and take the tour.
Don’t forget to get out and vote on Tuesday, November 4th, in this important election !
My sister, Sans Souci, will be celebrating her 60th birthday on Wednesday, November 5, so everyone is welcome to come by to toast our charming Poetry Wednesday “Poetess Hostess with the Mostess” !
Before we get started, please make sure that your post has a link to get back to this page to make it easier to take the tour:
1) Copy and paste the following link that I have provided for you from this page to somewhere on your poetry post.
Link back to the Poetry Wednesday tour on Laurita’s page
2) Leave the link of your poetry post in the comments section below. This is the link guests will click on to read your poem (see my post below as an example).
In honor of my sister’s birthday, I’m going to start things off this week with a poem called, “Superb at Sixty” by Allen Jesson (with some minor alterations). I hope you enjoy it.
Happy Birthday to my wonderful sister,
these words are just for you,
because we’re proud of who you are,
and we’re proud of what you do.
Superb At Sixty
by Allen Jesson
To all participants: please make sure your poetry post is set to “everyone” so all taking the tour will be able to read it ! Thank you ! ~ Laurita.

How High The Moon
by Nancy Hamilton and music by Morgan Lewis.
Somewhere there’s music
How faint the tune
Somewhere there’s heaven
How high the moon
There is no moon above
When love is far away too
Till it comes true
That you love me as I love you
Somewhere there’s heaven
It’s where you are
Somewhere there’s music
How near, how far
The darkest night would shine
If you would come to me soon
Until you will, how still my heart
How high the moon
Somewhere there’s music
How faint the tune
Somewhere there’s heaven
How high the moon
The darkest night would shine
If you would come to me soon
Until you will, how still my heart
How high the moon
The bar is open !
Anybody hungry ?
Ok, let’s roll out the cake !!!
Sans, don’t forget to make a wish and blow out the candles !
Mylanta’s great for indigestion !
I think I’ve had too much of Mike’s Hard Lemonade again !
I think I’d better quit while I’m ahead,
so let’s start the tour !
How High The Moon – Ella Fitzgerald
You’ve prepared a marvelous, jolly Birthday Hall, dear Laurita! I’ll be back with my link soon! 🙂
