Nikki Giovanni is one of the best-known and most accomplished African-American authors. A professor of English at Virginia Polytechnic Institute, she speaks frequently around the country. Nikki Giovanni’s last work is a wonderful anthology of poems by the very best African-American writers including Langston Hughes, Richard Wright, Gwendolyn Brooks and many others.
