The Moody Blues and Norda Mullen
I have loved The Moody Blues since I was 14 years old. I went to many shows throughout my life, although I did not see them with Mike Pinder. I got used to him not being there anymore like everyone else, but it was really a blow when Ray Thomas left. I guess it had to happen sooner or later. The Moody Blues must really love to go on tour, so they got a replacement named Norda Mullen. She’s actually from Mississippi. She fills in all of Ray’s flute solos very well, but nothing can really replace his presence or his voice. The bottom line is, The Moody Blues still sound as good as they did over forty years ago. Today, The Moody Blues are just a trio, but they are being held together by a very talented woman named Norda Mullen.
Norda Mullen has said in an interview that in the beginning she was well aware that she was not always well received by the audiences and she understands why. But she says that it was not her fault that Ray is no longer in the band. He left and she was asked by Justin Hayward to fill in. She seems to be doing a great job so far.
It has been all very good this year so far for the Moody Blues 2008 Spring tour. The guys are in great shape and condition, the voice of Justin Hayward is in its best, all in general looking extremly great and still appetizing to the ladies, even letting his hair grow longer. In much reaction to the women I have heard talk about it has all been positive and love his new found long hair look. As for John Lodge what can we say the mans still very appealing and shows it well with all the ladies and the incredible head of hair is the highlight, his open cuffed long sleeve shirts are still a hit after all these years! The songs are in top vocals as always, long standing ovations echo the venues these guys cant miss, And Graeme Egde is in top form doing his awesome drums and solo dancing to Higher and Higher, Norda mullen such a beauty as her flute is played with the tenderness it deserves, Gordy on the keyboards beautiful sound and flirting synthizer rendtions. And Paul on the drums plays so hard and beautiful flute rendtions too and cordinates with Graeme all in all these guya re here to stay for a long time with no worries!
